Ckoroshaw are now exclusively found in the fallen foundry, The Cobalsth. Historically they roamed much of the canyon area Casaderea had to offer, yet after the balefire explosion at the city of Salkin they found far more success in the irradiated remnants of the Cobalsth Foundry. Able to reinforce their beaks with the long abandoned metals that lay in the complex.
Living on the cusp of The City of The Silent, The Coblasth,
Ckoroshaw are slightly radioactive. Smaller animals, the
Ckoroshaw live in groups of three to four. Since the
radiation and balefire materials from the blast site
within the city remains, electrical storms of a hellish
degree exist in perpetuity around the area. Not bound by
their weight, or need of circumstantial storms. Ckoroshaw
are the apex predators of The Cobalsth.
Swinging from rebar and other thin outcroppings of a manmade
nature, Ckoroshaw are extremely agile. Both in the air and
swinging and crawling through long abandoned passageways.
Ckoroshaw are the only of the Shaw family possessing feet
modified to be zygodactyl, allowing them to hang upside
down and extract prey from tight crevices.
Ckoroshaw in pack hunting, will attempt to
outmaneuver prey in fascinating ways.
Flying low, they can turn on a dime by
striking the ground with their main claw
and swinging themselves around.
Ckoroshaw are not good company, they are butchers of the dead. Often ganging up on sleeping prey to consume it alive, a particularly gruesome activity given the axe like blade they have for a beak. Individuals will seek out metal material of which to reinforce their claws and beaks with. Swallowing chunks of metal that are soon digested and cycled through their bodies. Which aids in courtship, as one will bring a potential mate an impressive limb hacked off another. Wether it be prey or its own kind it does not seem to matter. Ckoroshaw are considered untamable given their habits of butchering the sleeping. And need for such a specialized environment and pack dynamic.
Ckoroshaw keep their young just past the main foundry of The Cobalsth, having their little ones subjected to the leftover bale radiation within the second foundry. Like Trackenshaw, their young are born in a comatose like state. They will be covered in ashes and dirt stuk together with stomach fluid and buried. This policy Ckoroshaw have will see the weak of the litter die, ensuring the survival of only the strongest. As even if the weak withstand the radiation, the energy it would take to dig back out of the ground would be far too much. Much less survive once they are free on the surface. Making sure no precious food is wasted on those that cannot survive, done like this due to the Ckoroshaw’s inability for more intricate sight. Unable to judge the strongest for themselves they allow the wild to do it. The young will spend a year outside the main foundry, before being welcomed in and taught how to hunt. If they wander in before, they will be ignored. Only being recognized upon exiting and returning at the proper age. Though beyond being taught basic survival skills, the Ckoroshaw will be left alone until it gains reputation.
