Grey Rétir-Dajirimbarg inhabit the Greymire
Grey Rétir-Dajirimbarg, also known as Grey Bonefish are the most common fish found in the Greymire. Fish is a word that is being stretched here, but it is a fish nonetheless. The boney plates are low nutrient and uncomfortable to eat. The body beneath the plates is eel like and filled with small filiments that lift and close the plates around it. Like this, the grey bonefish is not great food to predators. But it will be in time. As time moves forth, the bonefish will have to mate. When this happens they drop their plates (minus the ones on their head which hold their teeth) and become vulnerable until their plates can grow back if they get that chance.
Bonefish typically are fearless creatures when matured. The hunt is not worth the energy spent. And thus they swim en masse around the mire. Bullying other fish into hideyholes and away from food. Grey Bonefish are known to launch themselves up out of the water to grab dangling fruit. This behavior happens when dragomii or others travel through the mire. The bonefish will leap and steal trinkets and unsecured items.
Bonefish when mating will drop their boney plates. Exposing their eel like body but keeping their headplates. Mating periods come and go whenever, the grey bonefish has no set mating season. Afterwards, both adults must survive a month if they wish for their plates to grow back. Most are eaten but the few that do survive can grow longer and longer plates with each molt. They will procreate en masse and release thousands of eggs. For the larval young are squishy, unarmored, and very appealing to predators. Leading to the vast majority of each clutch being eaten. Newly plated bonefish are skittish, yet, they in time will learn they need not fear.
