Djargeyr

Overview

A mostly aquatic beast, yet on occasion it braves the mud flats of the mire. Though it mostly stays beneath the water. Always waiting, always primed, always there. Swimming, staying, stalking. The Djargeyr is known for hunting anything, but the Whitebanded Greymire Walker. The walker being, well a walker. Though Weingand are still on the menu, however much of a gamble it is to attack one. The padded bumps on their skull act as cushioning and armor should a weingand stomp heavily upon their brow.

Temperment

Patient, very very patient. Striking only when it is sure. Quiet and reserved, prone to stalking. Mated pairs move in twos almost always. But mostly the Djargeyr will remain solitary for most of their lives.

Life Cycle

Mated pairs will move in groups of two. And shall be bonded for life. Together they may have clutches of 6-10 young. These young are very fragile and typically half the clutch will be lost to the environment around. and while the Zwedar mainly consumes flowers and various plants. The young of the Djargeyr when found, can and will be consumed before the raiding Zwedar is fended off. As the young grow they split off from their parents and will roam for years. Generally waiting periods of 60-130years to find a mate. Leading to very slow population growth if any at all at its current rate.
