Xargand inhabit Kelgorea
Herds of Xargand occupy Kelgorea’s lower mires and bogs. Lumbering around and feasting on hanging brush. Two massive fangs to stab and butcher hard and soft wood. Lower smaller fangs to scoop sap and wood pulp into their waiting mouths. While vines, branches, and trunk are their chosen diet. They will of course feast on whatever leaves and bugs they can find. The mane of the Xargand sports a bright color to both blend into the bright leaves of the surrounding flora. And to signify a slight toxicity inherited from their diets.
Generally calm, being so large as to rarely draw predators in. And walking on such tall hooves helps protect against bites from large geyr species that may stalk their habitat. Yet of course they could be toppled, and that leads to bouts of anxiety rippling through a herd.
The young keep to their parents sides. Huddling close given threats of predation. Yet should they survive long enough and grow long enough, they will be exiled from the herd say for one or two if the parents can keep other Xargand from slaying them. These roaming groups grow alone or together, and will in adulthood find a new herd of which to integrate into.
