Slopeback Horses inhabit the Palereach

Slopebacked Horse

Overview

The slopeback wanders the lower regions on the fringes of the Palereach. Grazing in herds of 7-10 the slopeback horse is a smaller specie. Delicate and frail their only true advantage is their ghastly bite. Capable of burrowing deep in flesh to cleave cookie cutter shapes. As the inside of their chelicerae bears curved flat expanses of razor teeth. These teeth aid the horse in gnawing on roots and tougher brambles. And meat should a slopeback be given a chance. Their pale lace is velvety and semi hydrophobic. Dew often congeals upon their hide to give them a misty appearance.

Temperment

Slopeback are far to frail to be used as mounts or beasts of burden. And don’t fair too well in the presence of larger predators. Rather they are a reserved species of horse that avoids all contact with other living beings say stationary flora. Though they tolerate wandering species of flora.

Life Cycle

The foals of the slopeback cling to the underside of their carapaces. Hidden by the adults lace and protected by storms and rain by it. They do not disengage until they grow large enough to significantly burden their parent. From which they stumble around until they learn of their bearings.
