Horse

Group: Serves as a family, animals within a group are very closely related.

Plated in carapace, with a veil of lace draped over their backs, with no eyes comes the Horse. A common group found almost everywhere say the Conferous. They are closely related to Mules and Donkeys, and related distantly to Bloodpriest. An old lineage they are, present from the reign of the sables and still going strong they are. WIth two minds, one lesser mind relegated to the legs. And the main mind relegated to the body. The Horse has a hydraulic system to control its limbs.

Crawlleg

The most common subgroup of horse. Equipped with many legs to crawl as their name suggests, the Crawlleg dominates most horse ecology because it is so efficient. The slightly sloped build and thick drooping lace keep rain from bothering it. Its many legs drift with minds of their own, allowing the central mind to focus on feeding and conserving energy alone. For their neural system is twofold, one mind for locomotion, sense(excluding auditory), and stress, the other for basic feeding and knowledge. The dominant mind would be that of the main one, giving orders to its second lesser mind on how and when to move if needed. But mainly it leaves the lesser mind to its own devices, being more preoccupied with feeding.

This way, does the Crawlleg avoid internal organ damage if it becomes too stressed. For the lesser mind is the one burdened with the ability to feel stressed, and isolated to the legs; at worse the Crawlleg will feel a bit shaky or sore. But it avoids ulcers, wasting, and overload. Leaving them to be able to easily colonize an area for they can avoid in most part, many environmental stressors. The lesser mind feels out the senses of the horse, it can feel other things moving through detecting tremors in the ground. It will communicate with the main mind what it picks up. The main mind will then compare this information with auditory information to gauge how far or close a potential threat is.

Dresslace

Dresslace horse are noticeably more stilted than Train or Crawllegs. The main mind similarly takes over actions of feeding and hearing, whilst giving orders to the lesser mind. With the lesser mind dealing with stress, sense, and locomotion. But in Dresslace horses, the lesser mind has a bit more autonomy, and is noticeably, far more aggressive. Equipped with legs ending in sharp points, the lesser mind does not shy away from picking fights. Given they have the thickest and most layered lace of the horses, they can afford to pick these fights.

With sharp legs, Dresslace tend to stick to more rocky and solid ground. Since they will tend to sink slightly or quite a bit in softer terrain. Yet some will stick to softer terrain for unknown reasons. They do not fare as well as they could in them, but remain there nonetheless. Dresslace are thus more often seen in mountainous and or hotter terrain. Kajir features quite many Dresslace. Instead of having many Crawlleg or Train, they have many, many Dresslace.

Dresslace earned their name for being hunted for their lace. To be used in dressmaking or general attire. Its thick, lightweight, waterproof, and extremely durable. Making it a very versatile material that both Dragomii and Sable’sa tend to use. Though this relationship has bred more aggressive and defensive Dresslace over time. For many who hunt Dresslace do not use guns for many who belong to the frontier. Accidentally creating tougher and meaner horses. Leaving those with proper weaponry to be more on edge during Dresslace hunts.

This aggressive nature leaves many Dresslace to be Carnfor(carnivorous). They can and will hunt small animals. The lesser and main mind working together to rely information and senses in order to track or assail prey. Of course, not all Dresslace stick to small prey, given they are equipped with many spear adjacent legs. All one needs to do is bum rush some larger animal to cause significant damage. Leading to many ambush predators in the Dresslace subgroup.

Train Horse

The largest and tallest of the horse, Train Horses are menacing beasts. Heavy and sometimes mean, they dominant their ecosystems. From the Coppermouth to the Thralleater, they leer over their quarry and may be roungar(generalists) or carnfor. And have the most interesting biology of the three subgroups.

Their lesser and main minds work together nearly all the time. Only drifting separately when the horse is in a daze or sleeping. Otherwise, both work like lovers in a dance; The legs move when suggested, the mouth unfurls when guided. Unlike other subgroups, the Train Horse cannot handle stress. While negative affects are still isolated to the legs, because the main mind is so intertwined with its lesser it will mentally feel the effects. Leaving to a rampaging and inconsolable beast. This paired with its strength create a potential predator, and a murderous animal. Other beasts do their best to avoid enraging Train Horses as the horse will not be able to handle its stress effectively if at all. The Coppermouth the best example of intolerance.

Now the reason for their name, their ability to drive their hydraulic system into overdrive and froth or steam from the mouth and sometimes ears (If applicable). Their internal hydraulics being used as a steam engine of which to power their legs so the horse can reach high speeds. Often lowering its neck for a more aggressive and streamlined silhouette. Giving them the appearance of a Roaming Train and thus their name.
