Overview

Stockily built, the Shimmercoat Northern may not look it. But its built for endurance. Fast when it needs to be, slow when it wants. It pursues its prey at a measured pace should they be too fast for sprint. This measured pace, this slow chase can last days. The Shimmercoat Northern will make sure its prey tires before striking. But similarly, if prey is slow enough. The hunt shall be quick and the unicorn will have its meal.

Temperment

A patient beast, it refuses company. Preferring to be alone at all hours.

Life Cycle

With a naturally low population the Shimmercoat Northern patrol a large swath of territory. Rarely encountering each other but they breed when they do. Both parents will sire young, each typically having 2-3 whelps. For a total of 4-6 young with each encounter. They will be raised separately as each unicorn patrols their own territory. And when sufficiently grown, they will make way for their own territories. These young will be battered by adults should they cross paths and will be driven far away from where they grow up. Eventually picking a territory and repeating the cycle.
