Sarl'mcka

Overview

This shrinebuilder is a slow moving menace. Sarl’mcka inhabit the upper reaches of Malia. Notably in the biomes with a lack of sprawling thorns. As those areas are enticing to possible prey. Slow moving the ulkmcela roams and soaks in the suns light. Fueling its body while its on a constant prowl. Half its neural system honed in on any possible hunts, the other half sleeping. The animal will flip and flop its neural system as needed.

When the Sarl’mcka catch and kill prey. In shrinebuilder fashion they collect the bones of their kill. Striving clean the remains and using them to build a shrine like den. These shrines of the Sarl’mcka in particular can get very elaborate. Featuring multiple dens, ‘fences’, and decorative pieces. Like patterned flooring. These dens get this elaborate due to the excess of bones one may acquire. And instead of just letting the debris pile, they integrate it into their shrine.

Temperment

They present as calm but turn vicious at the slightest sign of weakness. Serrated jaws capable of doing incredible damage.

Life Cycle

The numbers of Sarl’mcka are normally low. Given that they rarely leave a claimed territory and are solitary. So when they cross paths, its rare and only sometimes results in offspring. Yet despite their solitary nature they take care of their young well. Protecting and ensuring they can bask safely. And should an animal try to attack or successfully prey on the young Sarl’mcka. The adults are known to have exhibited behaviors in line with revenge. And should the young grow and mature, they will be escorted off claimed territory. And while violence is rare, should some refuse to leave. Then push comes to shove. The maturing young will venture out and hopefully stake their own claim.
