Danse Mailtail inhabit the Lulnlayer
Solitary and patient. Danse Mailtail move throughout the Lulnlayer and graze unbothered. Capable of holding their breath for hours they can ignore the dangerous levels of humidity within the forest. At times, leaving them the sole inhabitant of an area. At which the Danse Mailtail may dance. Frolicking until it chances upon another animal. At which it may feel a sudden bout of aggressiveness, or curiosity.
Bipolar in nature, the temperament of the Danse Mailtail is a coin flip. Leading many animals to simply leave them well alone. Many except the notable Vollgratteen who will take on risky hunts such as the Mailtail. Leading to the Mailtail’s quick and sudden penchant for violence. Because sometimes swinging on sight saves lives.
Their numbers are naturally lowish, so when two Mailtails encounter each other. They are almost always bound to mate. The Mailtails eggs will be laid in the deepest parts of the Lulnlayer that they can reach. And the whelps when hatched must fend for themselves. The young are notably equipped with primitive gills that are lost later in life. Allowing them to hide in water or in the most humid parts of the forest. Once sized appropriately, they fear much less and will start to make bold moves. This is often when they are picked off. But those who make it into adulthood may live for a very, very, long time before a successful Vollgratteen hunt brings them down.
