Gelgeyr inhabit Gelgaten

Gelgeyr

Overview

The Gelgeyr with its flowing drape mimics the current flow and reflection as it swims through Gelgaten. Mainly fishing for fish and bugs do solo individuals roam. Fast and agile they can catch even the speediest of Krislargen. Yet this appetite does enjoy the extremely common Rhettic Roctha. Of which they must ambush after stalking for minutes to hours. Before either being able to snap them up, or lunge out of the water to grab and then drag down into the water to drown. Like this, do they busy themselves for their long days. But may occasionally prey upon the Gelgaten Gorgons young.

Temperment

Solitary the Gelgeyr hunts and roams on its own. Though they will group up during breeding/rearing season. This is the sole time they prefer company as they lounge, mate, and rear young. This time, most of their food comes from the sun.

Life Cycle

The breeding season is winter, the Gelgeyr will flock to designated areas of flat land. This will be the same land they will use in the rearing season of spring. The rearing season sees the young being taken care of. What food the Gelgeyr do catch goes to their young who are not fully red and require extra food. The youngs hide is black, their lace red. After the conclusion of rearing season, the Gelgeyr disperse. Leaving their young to figure it out. The young must learn to survive on their own but may be harassed or killed by Rhettic. Should they survive into adulthood they will fit into a territory and rule it alone.
